
Meet Our Teachers
Our teachers are experienced instructors who are passionate about education. All lead instructors have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and many have Master's degrees in education as well as a Georgia Teaching Certificate. With diverse backgrounds in Catholic schools, public schools, and other hybrid homeschool programs, our teachers partner with parents to make this a great experience for all of our students.
Holly Amodio
Fourth Grade Science & Religion Teacher
Mrs. Amodio graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from North Georgia College and State University. She has a passion for both homeschooling and Catholic teaching. Mrs. Amodio integrates hands-on experiences for her students, sharing her love for the Catholic faith in every class.
Susan Gonzalez
Lead Kindergarten and First Grade Teacher
Mrs. Gonzalez has a Master of Science from New York University and has years of experience teaching in Georgia and California. She is also a Spanish interpreter for the Department of Education and enjoys integrating Spanish into our kindergarten and first-grade classrooms.
Maggie Hall
Social Studies Assistant Teacher
Mrs. Hall holds a degree in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Atlanta. She has homeschooled her children for years and taught in other hybrid homeschool programs. She uses her experience in graphic design while teaching history by incorporating unique art projects into the curriculum.
Eva Hildreth
Lead Second Grade Teacher
Mrs. Hildreth has a Master's degree in Education along with years of experience teaching at Title I schools in Georgia. She and her family are parishioners at St. Clare's Catholic Church in Acworth. After teaching elementary science for one year at St. John the Baptist Hybrid for one year, we were excited to have Mrs. Hildreth become the lead teacher for our Third Grade class.
Kimberly Cannon
Middle and High School Language Arts Lead Teacher
Ms. Cannon graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2017. Following graduation, she worked as a reporter for the Valdosta Daily Times for close to a year before moving on to attend graduate school for teaching. While pursuing her graduate degree, she taught English at Colquitt County High School in Georgia. She earned a Master of Arts in Teaching, with a major in secondary education, from Valdosta State University in the summer of 2019.
Melanie Meder
Middle School Science Teacher
Mrs. Meder has a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Loyola University. She has experience teaching science at Catholic schools in New York and New Orleans. Mrs. Meder is a homeschool mom of five and is an active member in her local Catholic homeschool groups.
Sharon Masinelli
Lead High School Science Teacher and School Administrator
Ms. Masinelli (also known as Mrs. Baeten) has a Master of Clinical Medical Science and is currently working on a Doctorate of Education degree. She has taught at several other hybrid homeschool programs as well as Georgia State University and Kennesaw State University. Ms. Masinelli has been a part-time Physician Assistant in cardiology since 2004. She enjoys teaching science, particularly Biology, given her medical background. She has eight children at St. John the Baptist Hybrid and has been married to her wonderful husband, Bob, since 2002.
Lindsey O'Daniels
Lead Fourth and Fifth Grade Teacher
Mrs. O’Daniels has been an elementary classroom teacher for over ten years. She grew up in Texas and completed her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at the University of Texas. After graduation, she moved to Florida to pursue a Master’s Degree in Reading Education at the University of Florida. She spent four years in Florida teaching 3rd and 2nd grade before moving to Atlanta to teach at a charter school. Mrs. O’Daniels has experience teaching 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, as well as serving as the English as a Second Language teacher for grades K – 5. She also graduated from Georgia State with a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership. Mrs. O’Daniels and her husband live in Smyrna and are blessed to have two wonderful children. She is passionate about education and loves having the opportunity to work with the students at St. John the Baptist Hybrid!
Barbara Small
Lead High School Religion Teacher
Mrs. Small holds a Master's degree in Education from Duquesne University. She taught at Catholic schools and private Christian schools for years before becoming a dedicated homeschool educator for her own family. She has excellent experience teaching the religious curriculum from Mother of Divine Grace. Mrs. Small brings a unique blend of strong academics from her teaching experience while simultaneously partnering with homeschool parents in a traditional homeschool setting.
